PRACTICUM LIFE PART 2

Assalamualaikum.

I tried to counsel those problematic pupils in my class. I mentioned about their parents.

"what's your parents' occupation?"
"do you think you will make your parents sad if I call your parents right now and tell them that their son is very problematic and misbehaved in school?"
"do you think you should make your parents become sad?"
"do you love your parents?"
"if you love them, what should you do to make them proud of you?"
"if you befriend with a bad friend, you might turn into a bad person. If you befriend with nice person, you might become a nice person too."
"do you want to be nice or bad?"
"do you promise me that you won't misbehaved again?"
"if you broke your promise, you're not a real man, you're a pondan"

Do you think this approach worked for those problematic pupils? At first, yes. They did behaved for my next class. But after the second class, they misbehaved again. And as expected, I went mad again. I think this cycle will keep repeating again and again. Need to do some research on how to handle problematic pupils again. Sigh.

Sincerely,
A pretending-to-be-a-counselor-but-failed teacher

PRACTICUM'S LIFE PART 1

Assalamualaikum.

In a blink of eye, it's already the fifth week of my practicum phase two. So many things happened during this five weeks. There were moment that I turned into a real dinosaur in class. Well, when you enter a Jurassic Park where all the dinosaurs are T-rex, you have to be the biggest T-rex to face them.

That day was my first observation so I was extremely nervous. As usual, adrenaline rush. Kah. Everything was fine until the last stage of my lesson. The pupils went mad. They danced, they rolled on the floor, they talked loudly and started to lose their focus. My patience almost reached its limit.

Right after the class ended, I literally went mad. I threw the books right on the pupils' face. I threw the file on the desk. I tore my teaching aids. I said some harsh words (harsh, but does not contain any profanity or vulgar words, definitely!).

I went mad not because of my marks. I am quite satisfied with my marks although it is not that high. Ehem. I am very disappointed with my pupils that I almost cried. They are just Year 2, but their attitude sucks. If you're not that clever, can you just listen to the teacher and focus in class? Or at least respect the teacher in front, try to not make any noise if you don't have the intention to learn.

Sincerely,
A disappointed teacher.

Hi !

Assalamualaikum.

It's been a long time since I've posted anything here.  Oh, I've changed the design of this blog to a simpler design and deleted all my previous posts...reverted to draft actually. The posts were way too childish for people to read. Well, I'm 23 years old now. And I will be a teacher soon(InsyaAllah), so I should start to change the way i write things. ehem.

Sincerely,
Yana
